What is façade lighting? +

Façade lighting is the deliberate illumination of a building's exterior envelope. Done properly it is an engineering discipline: photometric study, luminaire selection, mounting detail, thermal design, glare control, cabling, control topology and commissioning — not simply mounting fixtures on a wall.

Why RGBW over RGB? +

RGB systems create white by mixing three colours, which produces a tinted, unstable white and visible colour shift when dimmed. RGBW adds a dedicated white LED, delivering richer whites, deeper saturated colours, smoother low-end dimming and far more uniform colour mixing across long façade runs.

How many fixtures can run on one controller? +

It depends on channel count per fixture, refresh requirements and cable topology. We calculate the DMX universe budget, power injection points and voltage-drop limits during engineering, then document the exact fixture count per controller and per run for your project.

Can fixtures be customised? +

Yes. Length, wattage, beam angle, optics, housing colour, bracket type, mounting method, control protocol, voltage, colour temperature, DMX addressing, cable length, connector type and branding are all specified per project.

Do you provide DIALux simulation? +

Yes. We simulate the façade in DIALux to validate lux levels, uniformity, beam overlap and visual impact before a single fixture is manufactured — so what is approved on screen is what is delivered on site.

Do you undertake turnkey projects? +

Yes. Concept, engineering, custom manufacturing, supply, installation supervision, DMX programming, commissioning, after-sales support and AMC are handled under one accountability.

Can Kerr manufacture custom lengths? +

Yes. Our extrusion and assembly process supports project-specific lengths so fixtures align precisely with architectural modules, mullions, coping lines and fin spacing.

What warranty is provided? +

Five years on the complete luminaire and five years on acrylic against yellowing and cracking under normal operating conditions, backed by professional constant-current electronics and architectural-grade surface finishing.

What materials are used? +

6000-series architectural aluminium housings, tempered glass or premium UV-resistant acrylic, professional silicone sealing, breather valve technology, and high-CRI LEDs from sources such as OSRAM, CREE, LUMINUS and Epistar depending on project requirements.

Do you support DMX? +

Yes. Our fixtures are DMX512 compatible, including pixel-addressable configurations, with programming and commissioning delivered by our engineers.

Can the lighting be synchronized with music? +

Yes. Show control can be time-coded or audio-triggered for festival modes, national days, brand moments and choreographed façade shows.
